Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the tasks, roles and challenges of teachers in curriculum development. A teacher is an educator who has an important role in the teaching process and must be able to apply it in schools. The curriculum is a system of plans and arrangements regarding learning materials applied in teaching and learning activities. Teachers must know their duties, roles and challenges in the independent curriculum. The process of implementing the independent curriculum is broken down into three stages, namely planning, implementation and evaluation. The positive impact of implementing the independent curriculum on learning is increasing the creativity of teachers and students, increasing enthusiasm and activeness of students in learning, and increasing teacher enthusiasm in developing their own capacity. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research using interview methods, literature and documentation. The research results show that there are important roles and tasks in curriculum development in an institution and a teacher must have the ability to convey learning so that a curriculum is realized.
