Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of naming Scout teams in Indonesia, and the meaning of the semantic features in naming Scout teams in Indonesia. The research uses qualitative research methods in a descriptive form. The data obtained from this study were processed using library and note-taking techniques accompanied by several steps, including; (1) prepare everything related to the theory that supports and is in line with the research topic based on the use of several literatures, (2) collects data related to the naming of Scout teams in Indonesia, both men's and women's teams, (3) analyzes the types of naming of Scout teams in Indonesia , (4) defines the meaning of semantic features in naming Scout teams in Indonesia. The subject of this research is the name of the scout team whose naming uses the name of the animal for the boy scout team and the name of the flower for the girl scout team. The results showed that each animal and plant name used to name the Scout team had a different meaning by analyzing the identicality of the animal or plant names used. Based on data analysis, it was found surprising facts about the names of animals and plants used in the Scout team.
